The Altona Pirates Basketball Club welcomes Players, Coaches & Team Managers from the Wynbay Jets, who are joining the Pirates this season.
The Altona Prates Basketball club is a Junior Domestic Basketball Club, playing at the Altona Stadium. We have currently 70 teams from under 8’s to under 18’s, with more than 580 players (which is growing by the day). We are also blessed to have more 140 Volunteers, ie Coaches, Team Managers & Committee etc.
Our teams currently train at the stadium, as well as at the Altona College.
Club History
The original name of the club was the Port Phillip Pirates and was a formed in April 1992 as one of the founding clubs of the Altona Bay Basketball Association. There were 6 teams in the inaugural year and games were played at satellite courts within the local community, whilst the Stadium was being built.
On the 5th of July 1993 the club was officially registered as the Altona Pirates Basketball Club.
